Diluted pesticide washings should be applied to the target area or an authorized untreated area on the same site, provided the maximum permitted dose is not exceeded. Pouring pesticides down drains, dumping them on bare soil, or storing diluted mixtures in sprayers violates environmental regulations and best practices.

Applying insecticidal dust into the entrance hole ensures returning and exiting wasps carry the toxicant deep into the nest, effectively destroying the colony. Blocking the hole can force wasps to chew through into the living space, and entering a confined roof void with an active nest poses a severe stinging hazard.

If rats are consuming bromadiolone but not dying, physiological resistance is highly likely. The correct action is to stop using the ineffective active ingredient and switch to a different control method (trapping) or a more potent single-feed bait (like brodifacoum) if permitted. Pest controllers typically use products regulated under the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR), which covers public health pests. Using PPPs without the correct certification is illegal.

Blowflies (Calliphoridae) typically breed in decaying animal matter, such as meat waste in bins or dead carcasses (like rodents or birds) in wall voids. Fruit flies (Drosophila) breed in fermenting sugars, mosquitoes or moth flies in stagnant water, and stored product insects in dry goods.
